Wednesday Night Hot List

It’s a spooky-kooky night tonight with a couple of brand new shows starting, and a few others kicking off a new season!

In a daring step, the Cartoon Network shifts away from the animation and gets real with two new reality shows! First up, following the huge success of otherworldly investigative shows like Ghost Hunters and Paranormal State, The Othersiders follows a team of teenage paranormal investigators searching for ghostly activity. In the season opener, the team heads to the Lincoln Heights Jail in Los Angeles to check out claims of strange and spooky happenings.

Then we go from one adrenaline rush to another with, Survive This!. “Survivorman” Les Stroud gives a group of 14 to 17-year-old adventurers extreme challenges as they try to figure out how to survive near death situations. Tonight’s challenge, get through an extreme crash in the woods! Jeez! Whatever happened to parents just sending their kids off to boarding school?!

And the weirdest of all the reality shows, I Survived a Japanese Game Show, is back and kookier than ever! Once again 12 Americans are whisked away to live in their less than dreamy digs in Tokyo, to compete in strange competitions like, Big Foot Bang Bang, Alien Took My Teddy Bear and Gopher Make You Crazy (a crazy version of Whack-A-Mole), all in an effort to leave behind their integrity and take home the $250 thousand dollar grand prize!

Notable mentions… LOST executive producers, Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse lend a hand on Top Chef Masters.
