Sunday Night Hot List

Tonight NBC brings us the American debut of a new take on an old tale with, Merlin! Now here in the US it’s not rare for networks to find a successful British show, bring it here, then recast and re-work it for an American audience, a la The Office. But this is the first time in over 30 years that a network is airing a British series completely as is, unchanged, uncut, un-recast… and I, for one, am thrilled! In the new, medieval adventure we meet the young, HOT, Prince Arthur (Bradley James). Yep, way before he becomes King Arthur, Prince Arthur is a spoiled, cocky teen who constantly battles with his mentor, Merlin. But here’s the catch! Forget about a bearded old dude! This Merlin, played by Colin Morgan, is also a young, sexy, mo-fo! When we meet the wash-board ab’ed wizard, Merlin must hide his magical powers while working as a manservant for Prince Arthur after his father, King Uther outlaws magic. Think Harry Potter, but with really, really hot guys! Woo hoo!
On the miniseries, Impact, the Earth is in danger after a meteor shower whacks the moon off its axis, sending it hurtling towards a direct collision. David James Elliott, Natasha Henstridge, and James Cromwell star in the two-part miniseries. Part 2 airs next Sunday.
We get a really fun, and actually kinda scary movie on LMN tonight with Killer Hair. When hairstylists begin turning up murde red, complete with new, albeit bad, hair-do’s, it prompts a designer-clad, fashion columnist to investigate by using her knowledge of style to discover clues. I know! I know! But I promise! Grab your girlfriends and your gay friends and it will be the most fun, yell at the screen, movie watching experience eva!
And oh, are we in for a bloody good time on True Blood tonight! Sookie finds out that having a teenage vampire hanging around can throw a bit of a damper on a love life! Maryann flexes her power of “Oh yes I did!” casting a spell on the Merlotte's patrons, and leaving Sam helpless to stop the par-tay! Meanwhile… “Die fangers!” …at the Light of Day leadership conference, Jason makes friends with the group’s ambitious leaders Steve and Sarah, which creates tension with his jealous roommate Luke. And eeny-meeny-miney-moe, should Eric add another member to the ranks or no?!
Notable mentions… a jam packed Larry King Live with Kathy Griffin, AI’s David Cook, and Bristol Palin’s baby daddy, Levi Johnston.
