Rocky Horror Picture Show star Barry Bostwick and his second wife Sherri are separating after nearly fifteen years of marriage. In papers filed to the Los Angeles Superior Court on June 3, the couple cites “irreconcilable differences” as the cause for the request for legal separation.

The Bostwicks have weathered more than one storm during their marriage. In 1997, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer and later had his prostate removed. Despite questioning the surgical procedure- which resulted in possible side affects like incontinence and a dip in his libido- Bostwick made peace with the choice because of his family. He explained, “with a wife and children, I have no reason to want to gamble with my life."
Sherri is petitioning for physical and legal custody of their two children (Brian, 14, and Chelsea, 12), with Bostwick being granted visitation rights. She also filed to terminate any claims he could make for spousal support.
In 2007, Bostwick starred in the Lifetime movie Love Is A Four Letter Word and his character was a man going through a divorce over a fight about where to place a favored chair. At the time he said that if he went through anything similar he would quickly bow to his wife’s wishes. He said at the time, “You just let her have what she wants.”
