Obama White House Names June LGBT Pride Month

After staying mum on gay marriage through the upholding of California's Proposition 8, the Obama White House has spoken out--sort of.
Yesterday, the President issued a proclamation saying that June 2009 would be Pride Month for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community--by far a most advanced move for an American President.
The language of the announcement seems to confirm, however, Obama's support of civil unions over the right to marry.
"My Administration has partnered with the LGBT community to advance a wide range of initiatives...these measures include enhancing hate crimes laws, supporting civil unions and Federal rights for LGBT couples."
