Chastity Bono's stunning decision to undergo a sex change operation was the talk of the Gay Pride Parade in Los Angeles, California Sunday.
Parade grand marshal Chelsea Handler, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, and Ross "The Intern" Mathews, spoke exclusively to Radaronline.com about Sonny & Cher's daughter.
Chelsea joked about the long process Chastity nee Chaz will undergo,"...maybe we'll see her today and see him next week." But she also had words of encouragement "Everybody should do what they want to do, they're not hurting anybody else, it's, fine, yeah good for him, for her, whatever."
Politico Newsom, long a champion of gay rights and a contender for California governor, told only our cameras that Chaz is "remarkable" and admired the 40-year-old's conviction. Said Newsom: "It's all about being yourself and about having the courage to be yourself and the courage to stand up and be counted."
Funnyman Ross "The Intern" Mathews, former correspondent for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, said he was "surprised" at Chaz' announcement, but supportive. "Be you. Love yourself, good for Chaz." Both Chaz and Ross are Celeb Fit Club alums.
No sign of Chaz and her girlfriend Jennifer Elia at the gay pride festivities, but, RadarOnline.com can report the pair live together near the parade route in West Hollywood.
