The driver for Michael Jackson, who was accused of side-swiping an ambulance outside Cedars Sinai hospital April 22 will not face criminal charges, RadarOnline.com has learned. A source from the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office says there was a lack of evidence to prosecute the unnamed driver. Emergency Medical Technician Jamin Mauro told RadarOnline.com (Click here to see RadarOnline.com's interview with Ambulance driver) he was sitting in the ambulance with his partner when a black Cadillac Escalade sideswiped their vehicle and knocked a mirror off.
The driver then hopped out of Escalade with an umbrella, walked to the hospital doors and met Jackson, Mauro said.
"We were hit by the Escalade, and I was taking pictures for my company insurance," Mauro said. "About 30 seconds after, Jackson walked out of a medical building. He jumped into the Escalade and they sped off."
the suspected Escalade driver showed up at the Beverly Hills Police station to tell his side of the story, according to police spokesman Lt. Tony Lee.
A police investigator determined the Escalade only hit the ambulance mirror. An officer involved in the investigation called it "mirror-to-mirror brush" contact.
