EXCLUSIVE: Inside David Carradine’s Wake

Before hundreds gathered to mourn the loss of actor David Carradine, the family held an intimate viewing to celebrate his life, and a traditional wake in Malibu, Ca. afterwards, RadarOnline.com has learned.

There was a harp, 2 piano players, and several guitarists playing at the funeral. Keith Carradine was the emcee.

The program included a reading from Shakespeare by James Keach, a tender note from Carradine read by its recipient Michael Madsen, and a blessing by Baptist minister Reverend Alfreddie Johnson Jr.

The program also had a picture of David smiling on the front in a tux.  The inside had a poem David wrote, the back had a sketch by Sienna Carradine and the lyrics to Midnight Rider by Gregg Allman, RadarOnline.com has learned.

The wake following the funeral commenced around 8 p.m. at the Malibu home of Keach and Jane Seymour.

The A-list attendees included Mare Winningham, Rob Schneider, Darryl Hannah, Michael Madsen, Vicki Roberts, Steve Railsback, Ed Lauter, James Cromwell, Dan Haggerty, Frances Fisher, and Sally Kirkland.

There was a live band at the wake and David's brothers Keith and Robert jammed out with the band on guitar.  Robert serenaded Carradine’s widow Annie on the guitar in what was a very touching and poignant moment, RadarOnline.com has learned.
