Pop rockstress Ashlee Simpson was on the set of the new Melrose Place TV drama sporting a seriously powerful-blinged out Moldavite ring by Dara Dubinet when it slipped out of her fingers and broke. "It was time for her to stop wearing it," says Dubinet.  "When a stone is lost, broken  or stolen it is simply because it is not needed anymore. "

The pave diamond encircled knuckle-to-knuckle cocktail ring features a chunk of Moldavite that Dubinet says, "comes from a meteor that hit the earth 15 million years ago and left the little nodules in the Czech Republic." With a value of over 12 grand -- Ashlee broke a very pricey jewel!

The designer explains that, "it is a stone of transformation and is one of the most powerful stones."  Dubinet isn't at all upset with Ashlee --  in fact, she'd love to get the new mom another one for her personal use.

"Moldavite has magnificent monumental energy" she said "I believe that she had absorbed all the energy she needed from the stone and it wasn't meant to be on her any longer."
