Wolverine Makes a Midnight Splash

Hugh Jackman and Twentieth Century Fox are set to have a very good weekend. Their new movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine brought in close to $5 million through midnight showings, similar to the amount Iron Man grossed in their early showings before raking in $102 million that opening weekend.
While the official amount is still being tallied by Fox, the numbers from the 2,000 showings bode well and many expect the film to rake in more than the $70 million projected for the weekend.

There will be some roadblocks along the way though: A month ago, a working copy of the film was leaked on the internet (possibly causing a loss of as much as $20 million in revenue) and many may be staying out of the theaters to catch the NBA playoffs.
