Mikey Furey, the vocalist of NY electro-pop act Dangerous Muse, discussed the bizarre incident in which 24 actor Kiefer Sutherland reportedly broke designer Jack McCollough's nose in defense of actress Brooke Shields at an after-party following the Metropolitan Art Institute's Costume Gala Monday.

"The strangest part of last night," Furey wrote, "was watching McCollough's eyes cross for a moment just after Kiefer Sutherland head-butted him."

The skirmish began when Sutherland, no stranger to brushes with the law, told McCollough to apologize for allegedly knocking Shields over, according to the UK Sun. When he didn't, the second-generation actor pegged him with the stiff headbutt.

Shields rep said there was no exchange between the actress and McCollough, and the cause of Sutherland's outburst was unknown. Police were slated to interview the actress Wednesday about what happened, according to the Web site.

New York social blog Guest of a Guest reported that other stars, including Mary-Kate Olsen and Kirsten Dunst, witnessed the incident.
