Redmond O’Neal Begins Drug Program

After spending nearly a month in a Los Angeles jail, Redmond O’Neal was transferred to a correctional facility on Wednesday to begin a year-long intensive drug treatment program in Santa Clarita County, Calif.
The son of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal was arrested in April for bringing drugs into the parking lot of his detention center. While in prison, he has seen his mother once for a three hour visit at her home.

"Apparently a judge wouldn't let him enter private rehab," L.A. sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said, "he'll be in this new jail location but will be in a program there designed for addicts to get off drugs."
Redmond is expected in court on Friday.
