Preliminary Hearing Set for Britney's Ex

Adnan Ghalib will get his day in court and that day will be May 18.

That's the date that was scheduled Monday in a Van Nuys California court for a preliminary hearing relating to three felony charges against the paparazzo who once dated Britney Spears. Ghalib is accused of running over a man trying to serve him with a restraining order. That man, Ram Maskowitz, was granted a restraining  The District Attorney's request for protective orders for Britney Spears, Kevin Federline, Sean Preston, Jayden James and Jamie Spears was turned down, because restraining orders are already in place.

Ghalib is charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon, felony battery and felony hit and run after the incident with Maskowitz, which happened outside Ghalib's Encino apartment on February 11th.

Maskowtiz said he was attempting to serve legal papers when Ghalib attacked him. Maskowtiz said he suffered a fractured wrist, scrapes and bruises after Ghalib hit him with his vehicle; he told authorities he remained on the car's hood about 35 yards after initial impact was made.

Ghalib -- who was ordered to stay away from the "Womanizer" singer for three years in April -- pleaded not guilty to all of the charges Feb. 25.
