Robert Pattinson, the 23-year-old hunky star of vampire blockbuster Twilight, told reporters at Cannes Tuesday there will be a fourth installment in the burgeoning series.
Pattinson said the fourth film would be adapted from Stephenie Meyer's best-selling novel, Breaking Dawn. He said he is currently finishing up the filming of the sequel, New Moon, and will begin shooting the third film in the series, Twilight: Eclipse, this fall.
He discussed his character's development between Twilight and New Moon to The Hollywood Reporter.
"You're playing a figment in Bella's imagination so I was trying to do it in a 2D way," the actor said. "I hope it doesn't translate onscreen as being boring."
Pattison later attended the grand opening party of the designer clothing store, DSquared2, in Cannes.
