New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala is arguably the most celebrated night of style where top designers, heavy-hitting Hollywood types, and the most supreme supermodels (and superstars) converge to honor couture fashion.

And this year's event lived up to that billing, with Rihanna, Eva Mendes, Madonna, Victoria Beckham, Kate Hudson, Rachel Weisz, Jessica Biel and Liv Tyler on hand for the fashionably fabulous affair. Monday marked the museum's opening of "The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion," an exhibition which explores 50 years of iconic designs through the women whose faces, figures and attitudes shaped and personified them.
"They change all the time," supermodel Heidi Klum told USA Today of fashion trend setters. "There's not one person. The people who inspire me are my family. They're the most real."
The night was co-hosted by Marc Jacobs, Justin Timberlake, Kate Moss, and Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
