Adam Lambert, the breakout American Idol talent whose second-place finish shocked many, has a message for the nosy speculators about what goes on in his bedroom: "keep speculating."

The charismatic San Diego native's screeching high notes, skin-tight pants and liberal use of makeup has dredged up whispers about his sexual orientation. He told People magazine that its a really cool thing to showcase your individuality.

"You should own who you are and what you're about, and never make apologies for it," said the singer, who has not publicly divulged whether he likes guys, girls or both, after pictures of him kissing another man surfaced online.

The 27-year-old, spotted at the Broadway production of Hair on Tuesday, told the magazine he will -- "maybe" -- discuss his sexuality in an upcoming Rolling Stone feature. He said that he relishes the chance to be a role model for those who might identify with him.

"It feels really amazing to be able to try and pass that on to kids and young adults who don't have a role model like that," Lambert said. "It feels great because I never had a role model like that." (Photo: Splash News)
