Allison Iraheta's spirited run on American Idol came to an end on Wednesday result's show, as viewers cast the least amount of votes for the 17-year-old from Los Angeles.

The teen -- whose bluesy, soulful performances established her as a legitimate contender to the crown -- left the show in tears via the audience in her last hurrah.

The teen's elimination makes for an all-male trio of finalists: Adam Lambert, the flamboyant 27-year-old actor from Los Angeles; Danny Gokey, the 29-year-old everyman from Milwaukee; and Kris Allen, a handsome 23-year-old Arkansas college student.

Forging ahead, the remaining contestants will venture back to their hometowns before returning next week to perform two songs: one of their choosing, one from the judges. This year's winner will be announced May 20.
