Chanel's Venetian Affair

Despite the current economic conditions and the reality that numerous fashion retailers are bowing out of the industry, the Chanel show goes on.  The mega fashion house launched its mid-season cruise collection  dubbed  Crociera with a fashion show, dinner, and disco party living up to the Chanel worthy reputation  in Venice, Italy last night. Completely revamping the Excelsior Hotel with Chanel whites and camellias for the grand affair, the Chanel catwalk took place at dusk on a beach runway.

Designer Karl Lagerfeld is known for tying his mid season collection to a geographic theme  (New York, Monte Carlo, Miami, and Moscow have all been past muses).  This year it went Venetian with masks, fans, black lace, and all!

Over the top no doubt, but that is why everybody loves Chanel!
