Never judge a book by its cover.
In just the past four days, Susan Boyle's stunning appearance on UK's version of American Idol, Britain's Got Talent, has racked up more than 15 million hits on YouTube.
Boyle, a frumpy looking, unemployed 47-year-old from Scotland shocked the world with her stunning rendition of I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables.
Boyle's performance elicited tears from audience members and garnered high praise from one of the world's foremost music critics: Simon Cowell.
"Susan, I knew the minute you walked out on that stage that we were gonna hear something extraordinary," Cowell said. "And I was right."
Boyle remained humble amidst her newfound fame.
"Modern society is too quick to judge people on their appearances,” she told UK Times earlier this week. "There is not much you can do about it; it is the way they think; it is the way they are. But maybe this could teach them a lesson, or set an example.”
