While Robert Pattinson may be a little more reserved when it comes to feeling comfortable among his adoring female fans, New Moon hottie (and Pattinson’s onscreen rival) Taylor Lautner was more than happy to indulge the lucky ladies who recently caught up with him on the Vancouver set of the film.

While his co-stars Kristen Stewart and Michael Welch stayed inside the closed set the entire day, Lautner scored big points with the waiting fans when he came out to take photos and chat for a few minutes.

Allie, a local Twilight fan, tells RadarOnline.com exclusively about the encounter: “He was really nice, he came out to say hi to the fans.  He immediately started talking to us, he posed for pictures, and he put his arm around the girls as he took pictures with them.  He was so friendly and tried to clear a little space for each fan as they took a photo together.  After about five minutes he said he had to get back to work and we said ‘Bye, Taylor’ and he said ‘Bye’ and waved as he left!”

Lautner (who has short hair in real life) is once again sporting the long locks of his wolf pack character, and according to the fan, even that piece of costuming got an upgrade. Allie says the impressive do “looks awesome, you couldn’t even tell it was a wig just by looking at it, it is 100 times better than the first movie!”

Fans of series will recognize the scenes being filmed here as the two Port Angeles movie theater scenes in New Moon when Jacob, Bella and Mike go see a movie.
