Rihanna might be lying low lately, but the 21-year-old star is reportedly staging a major comeback. Sources say the singer is slated to perform for as many as 25,000 people on May 28 in the United Arab Emirates. And while Rihanna and Chris Brown haven’t been seen together in weeks, his mother recently paid a visit to singer at her LA home.
Vibe Events Management Agency, the Dubai-based company that is producing the event, says they are thrilled to bring a performer at Rihanna’s level to the country. “It will be the best concert the region has ever seen and we will stop at nothing,” Yassin Matbouly, the company’s managing director, told the UAE’s Gulf News. “Unlike some other stars who perform in the country, Rihanna’s star is burning bright at the moment.”
To lure Rihanna to the stage, Vibe reportedly must meet a 38-page rider of requirements, which includes accommodating her entourage of 80 people and providing a blueberry-scented candle, three whole lemons and pink bubblegum in her hotel room. "We want everything to be perfect,” Matbouly said, adding: “and if the specifics of the rider are anything to go by, she is planning a spectacular show.”
No details on the venue have yet been released and representatives for Rihanna and Vibe did not immediately return requests to comment. The concert would be Rihanna’s first public performance since her former boyfriend Chris Brown was arrested after allegedly assaulting her on February 8.
Further confusing the ongoing saga between her and Brown, his mother, sister and brother paid the Barbados beauty a visit at her Los Angeles home on April 9. After two hours, the stone-faced trio (flanked by a bodyguard) left her house with a suitcase in hand. Were they trying to get the two back together or were they picking up Brown’s belongings? The verdict is still out on these two.
