Redmond O'Neal -- the troubled son of Ryan O'Neal and Farrah Fawcett -- was allowed to briefly leave jail this weekend to visit his ailing mother, RadarOnline.com has confirmed.
Redmond -- who's being held in jail on a felony drug charge -- was allowed to leave the jail for 3-hours Saturday, as Entertainment Tonight was first to report. The leave happened after a judge on Friday granted a request from Redmond's attorney.

Redmond,24, was taken to his mother's home in the Bel Air section of Los Angeles. He was escorted by sheriff's deputies at the family's expense.
As RadarOnline has previously reported, Fawcett is battling a rare form of cancer. During a recent court hearing, Redmond implored the judge for leniency, saying his mother weighed only 86 pounds. Fawcett's oncologist later disputed that report, saying she weighed 101 pounds. Redmond is back in custody awaiting his next court hearing.
