Miss California Conquering Hero In Return To SoCal Church
Carrie Prejean finally got to preach to the choir.
The 21-year-old Miss USA hopeful -- who became the center of a national controversy last week after telling pageant judge Perez Hilton she opposed legalizing gay marriage -- attended services at The Rock Church in her hometown of San Diego on Sunday.
She said she refused to make a public apology at the request of state officials.
She said they told her: "'You need to apologize to the gay community. You need to not talk about your faith. This has everything to do with you representing California and saving the brand.'"
Prejean told the congregation she didn't do it because, "I was representing California. I was representing the majority of people in California."
The blond beauty also took time to address her cyber-audience, appearing in a YouTube clip where she said, "Hi YouTube fans, be inspired and don't be afraid to stand up!"
