CRITICS: Mariah Carey Fragrance Stinks

Sorry, Mariah Carey. Perhaps smell is in the nose of the beholder?
The New York Times Style Blog got their hands on Carey's new Elizabeth Adren-partnered scent M by Mariah Carey, and didn't necessarily whiff success.
"Its scent is reminiscent of a teenage girl in a summer halter top strolling on a Jersey shore boardwalk," writes the Times.
"Hot cotton candy, sticky saltwater taffy and a whiff of Mega Hold hair gel heating in the sun."
Author Chandler Burr goes so far as to suggest anyone sporting the perfume should beware the possibility of "diabetic shock."
Even worse, he throws down the pop star gauntlet by claiming Britney Spears' Midnight Fantasy fragrance is superior.
Ouch. At least we know Nick Cannon has a serious sweet tooth.
