Mercy James, the Malawi child Madonna was denied in her attempt to adopt last week, was inconsolable after her prospective mother vacated the country after appealing the rulings Friday, the UK Sun reported in today's edition.
“Where’s my Mummy?" the 3-year-old child asked, according to the Sun.
Annie Chikhwaza, who runs the Kondanani Children’s Home orphanage that the child lives at, told the Web site the child missed playing with Madonna's kids.

“She couldn’t understand where Lola, David and Rocco had gone," Chikhwaza said. "She thought they were playing hide and seek. It broke my heart to see her crying out for David, as they’d become inseparable."
