Billy Bob Prematurely Cancels Tour Amidst Controversy

A day after his disastrous Canadian radio interview hit the web, Billy Bob Thornton’s road act with the band The Boxmasters has reached a premature end. The group, which was booed when they hit the stage at Massey Hall on Thursday, is no longer part of the Willie and Ray tour according to Willie Nelson’s official site.

“It has been reported that Billy Bob Thornton & The Boxmasters will not be continuing the Canadian tour with Willie and Ray. At this time, no reasons have been announced but the remainder of the tour will continue as scheduled without The Boxmasters,” the statement said.

Thornton has been under fire since his tense interview with radio host Jian Ghomeshi. From the onset, Thornton was visibly annoyed and only got increasingly so- biting back due to a small reference made to his acting and directing background.
