The new SimAnimals is more fun than a barrel of hyenas (why should monkeys have all the fun?). Instead of wielding a god-like hand with Sims people, you’re instantly Mother Nature, running a forest, with all the cute animals, like rabbits, squirrels and a few bears. But better take care of your wild kingdom. Forget to gather food or show them where to forage and they may perish. Only you are responsible for the entire eco-system. Fun? You betcha!

Pick up an adorable hedgehog and introduce him to your rabbit buddies, or plant some trees – you have the power to move everything in the forest. Careful though, did you remember to create a river for the animals to drink from? To explore deeper into the forest and discover new animals and foliage, you need to take good care of your animals. In the uncharted areas they are new animals with unique abilities, but we’re not going to spoil the surprise.

On the DS version, you can blow into the microphone and become the wind, gathering fruit from trees, spread blossoms and maybe some pollen.

For us, the reward was seeing the animals frolic together, you know, the way bears and rabbits always do in the forest. Heck, it’s your forest. We say do what you want.

Available for Wii and DS on EA Games.
