You start the game as Chris Redfield who also appeared in the first Resident Evil game and his new BSAA (organization that fights bioterrorism) partner, Sheva Alomar in Kijuju, a fictional location in Africa. Resident Evil 5, is essentially a two player game, either the AI or a second player takes control of Sheva throughout the entire campaign. Both characters have their advantages and disadvantages. Chris performs punching melee moves and Shiva holds her own by kicking. The entire game is built on teamwork, the player will come across situations that require the assistance of your partner in order to find a new route or proceed to the next section. When your buddy is about to hit the ground you can run up to them and revive them instantly Gears of Wars style.
