Madonna Breaks Silence On Adoption Attempts

Madonna is confirming what the world already knows.
Madonna said in a statement Tuesday that she is indeed waiting until a hearing this Friday to see if her attempt to adopt a 4-year-old Malawian girl (Mercy James) will be successful.

The singer, who adopted 3-year-old son David from the same nation three years ago, said that she has followed all procedures of the Malawian adoption process. She has recently been at the center of controversy from critics who allege she has used her money and influence to get around the African nation's adoption practices.
