Madonna will have to wait to find out if her attempt to adopt a 4-year-old Malawi girl is approved, a court official said Monday.
Her application has been adjourned by the court until Friday, Malawi court official Thomson Ligowe told the AP.

The 50-year-old pop star spent about an hour in a Malawi court Monday. She has not publicly talked about her efforts to adopt her second child, whose name is Chifundo James, from the southern African nation. Court officials, speaking under conditions of anonymity, said that James' mother died shortly after giving birth to the child.
Her adoption of 3-year-old son David last year drew ire from child advocacy groups, who said she was bypassing the protocol of Malawian adoption process -- which usually takes up to two years -- by using money and political stroke. (Photo: WENN)
