(Photo: Splash News Online) Keira Knightley has signed-on as star of the science fiction flick Never Let Me Go, which will be directed by Mark Romanek (One Hour Photo)

The Pirates of the Caribbean actress -- who turns 24 later this month -- plays one of three young people who were raised in a boarding school having no contact with the outside world until they learn they are clones grown so their organs can be harvested.

Sort of like The Island without the over-inflated budget.

The flick goes before the cameras next month in London and in Norfolk, England.

Knightley is also set to star in a remake of My Fair Lady, playing Cockney flower-girl-turned-society-star Eliza Doolittle.
