The NYC Medical Examiner’s office has finished its autopsy on Natasha Richardson and concluded she died of “blunt impact to head.” That was the first official statement at 2:06 PM.
Ellen Borakove, the spokesperson for the NYC medical examiner’s office said the autopsy further concluded Richardson’s death was “an accident” and the exact cause of death was “a epidural hematoma due to blunt impact to the head.”
They are not planning on issuing a written report, Borakove told RadarOnline.com’s court reporter Jeanne King.
They may, however, release the name of the doctor who performed the autopsy.
Richardson, a 45-year-old Tony Award-winning actress was removed from life support yesterday by her family at Manhattan’s Lenox Hill hospital after she was declared brain dead a day earlier.
The tragedy began on Monday when Richardson – the wife of actor Liam Neeson -- suffered a fall while undergoing a private ski lesson at a resort in Quebec.
Reports say Richardson seemed uninjured at the time of the incident but she became ill about an hour later and was hospitalized in Montreal on Tuesday. She was later flown to New York so she could be hospitalized at Lenox Hill near her family.
Neeson’s Los Angeles-based publicist, Alan Nierob, confirmed her death yesterday without giving details of the cause.
