At the inaugural L.A. Comedy Shorts Film Festival, wacky funnyman, Bobcat Goldthwait will receive the first-ever "2009 Commie Award." He'll have to wait to collect that trophy... but not too long.
The event begins today, March 5th, and runs three days. Goldthwait will be honored during the closing night ceremony, March 8th at Cinespace in Hollywood.
Goldthwait began his career as one half of a comedy duo with Tom Kenny (the voice of SpongeBob Squarepants). He then became recognized a stand-up comedian in the '80s and went onto star in several movies including the Police Academy flicks. Later Goldthwait took on writing and directing (his true passion) beginning with Shakes the Clown. His newest film scheduled for release this year is World's Greatest Dad.
