She may be the industry's darling now, but when Taylor Swift was still getting her act together, the only award she would have won was Most Likely to be Alone after losing pals once she chose her career over slumber parties.

"My friends just thought it was so stupid. When I'd sit down at the lunch table, they'd get up and move." Swift told SELF about the reaction she got after skipping dances and parties for potential gigs. As the magazine's March cover girl, she opened up about how her bouts with bullies ended up helping her succeed in the end.

"As I was setting up my equipment to sing karaoke at the town summer festival, the kids would shout horrible things." Swift recalled. "The only thing I can do is look back and thank those classmates. If I hadn't been so driven to music because I didn't have anyone to hang out with, if I hadn't written songs because I didn't have anyone to talk to,

I wouldn't be sitting here right now."

Success is truly the sweetest revenge. Taylor's sophomore album Fearless

topped the Billboard charts for weeks.
