(Photo: Splash Photo Agency) Singer Sheryl Crow says Courteney Cox is indeed a true friend.

Crow credits friends like Cox with helping her cope after she was diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2006 and had to undergo minimally invasive surgery as part of her treatment.

Crow talked to Hollyscoop about her own battle with cancer at the Saks Fifth Avenue "Unforgettable Evening" Benefiting EIF's Women's Cancer Research Fund where Gwyneth Paltrow and Courteney Cox were being honored.

"The whole thing for me is personal because I have cancer. Some people who advocate for others are angels," Sheryl told Hollyscoop.com.

Her pal Courteney added, "These women who have created this foundation are just... They have done so much for cancer research and it is unbelievable. And I am very excited to be a apart of it."
