Earlier this month, RadarOnline.com reported how the demo for the upcoming Resident Evil 5 had been downloaded 1.3 million times in the first 3 days. Well, interest in the zombie killing game is still spreading like the plague.
According to GamesIndustry.biz, over 4 million people worldwide have sampled the fifth installment of the popular franchise which won't be released for another two weeks.
"That's a staggering number," said industry consultant E.C. Meade. "If those translate to sales, you've got a hit the scale of Grand Theft Auto IV, which has sold 4 million units worldwide.

"Having the popular movie franchise out there certainly didn't hurt," Meade added.
Microsoft will be launching a limited edition red Resident Evil Xbox 360 Elite to coincide with the game's release on March 13. The console will cost $399, and include a copy of Resident Evil 5, as well as Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.
