Liam Neeson's thriller Taken was number 1 at the box office this weekend, earning $24.6 million. That was a surprise since, historically, the target audience -- young men -- don't go to the movies Super Bowl weekend.

It's the second biggest opening for that weekend, behind last year's Miley Cyrus Hannah Montana concert film which earned $31.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop continued to pull customers earning $14 for a total of $83.4 million since it opened.
