(Photo: Splash News Online) Jonathan Rhys Meyers has checked into a British rehab center for alcohol abuse.
The Irish born actor has had some widely publicized problems in the past, failing to show up to the IFTAs earlier this month when his TV series The Tudors won 10 awards, and in '07 when he was arrested at a Dublin airport and charged with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
The producers of The Tudors had to demand Meyers stay away from alcohol before filming.

"I didn't start drinking until I was 25," 31 year-old Meyers confessed to Dublin's Independent newspaper. "Since then I've been drunk maybe a dozen times. When I do I'm like Bambi. I'm all over the place, hopeless, like a 16 year-old kid."
"People notice," Jonathan admitted.
