Jay-Z on Rihanna: "She's Going Through A Tough Time"

"This is a real situation," Jay-Z told PEOPLE Saturday night in Phoenix at an event tied to the NBA All-Star Weekend.
"You have to have compassion for others. Just imagine it being your sister or mom and then think about how we should talk about that," the hip-hop mogul said.
"I just think we should all support her. She's going through a tough time. You have to realize she's a young girl, as well. She's very young."

Brown and Rihanna were involved in an alleged altercation last weekend in Los Angeles that reportedly left Rihanna badly bruised.
Rihanna is recovering with her family in Barbados, and Chris Brown is believed to be in the Los Angeles area. At this time, Brown has not been charged with any wrong doing.
