Simpson Concert: "Bizarre Experience"

"It was a bizarre experience," says Grand Rapids Press Entertainment Editor, John Gonzalez, after watching Jessica Simpson's meltdown on stage Thursday night.
But it seems Simpson's problems began earlier in the day. Gonzalez was told she had "issues" during the sound check, which might have stemmed from a faulty monitor.
"I thought, 'OK, monitor problems. It'll get exciting,' "Gonzalez continues. But it became clear fast it was "Not going in the right direction.

"She was losing steam rather than gaining it; trying to keep things together. I thought, 'This is not going in the right direction.' "
Simpson was a trooper, finished the entire set. No boos from the audience... "Maybe they were sympathetic," Gonzalez adds.
