The new Tom Cruise flick Valkyrie, about a German officer who tries to assassinate Hitler during WWII, was supposed to draw big crowds when it opened in Germany this weekend.

Nein.

It came in second to Twilight -- which had already been playing for a week.

In England, it was whupped by Slumdog Millionaire -- which was in its fourth week!

The movie earned $82 million in the U.S., which is about $10 million less than it cost. When you factor in another $50 million or so in promotion, it means the flick is likely to stay in the red even after home video is factored in.
