"Gears" Gears Up

Get set for another 10 years of virtual warfare.
"It's a ten-year plan," 'Gears of War 2' writer Joshua Ortega said of plans for the super-popular Xbox 360 game. "'The lancer is the new lightsaber."
He's not just shooting off his mouth, either. The game sold 2 million units its opening weekend in November, 2006.
The tactical third-person shooter puts the player in Delta Squad as they fight to save the colonists on the planet Sera from the Locust Horde. The game has won countless awards including 'Best Shooter' and 'Best Xbox 360 Game' at the 2008 'Spike Video Game Awards,' as well as 'Best Action Game of E3 2008' at the 'Game Critics Awards.'
