Eddie Murphy to Star in Richard Pryor Biopic

Oscar nominated actor/comedian Eddie Murphy is slated to star as Richard Pryor in an upcoming film about the legendary comic who battled drugs and M.S. Writer/Director Bill Condon is shopping his script entitled Richard Pryor: Is It Something I Said? to the studio subsidiaries and independent distributors around town, according to EW.com.
Fox Searchlight, the studio behind this year's big Oscar winner Slumdog Millionaire, is reportedly interested in the film which has a $25 million dollar budget.

Murphy seems a perfect for the film. He's featured Pryor impersonations in his act as far back as the 1987 concert movie Raw.
Condon , who wrote and directed Dreamgirls, most recently served as producer for the 2009 Academy Awards.
