Dr. Drew On Steven Alder And Rodney King
Feb. 4 2009, Published 7:10 a.m. ET
Dr. Drew Pinsky, host of the VH-1 reality show Sober House a spin-off of Celebrity Rehab, talks exclusively with RadarOnline.com about two of the celebrities he has treated for alcohol and drug addiction.
On Steven Adler, former drummer of Guns N' Roses, and current cast member of Sober House, Dr. Drew told us: "Steven Adler is doing ok. I spoke with Steven and his wife recently. What I know about his recent arrest is that it was because of not fulfilling community service portion as part of his ongoing legal problems. What I do know is that his arrest last August saved his life, and that if that hadn't happened, I don't think he would be with us now."
Dr. Drew also recently took Celebrity Rehab cast member Rodney King back to the spot where he was beaten by the LAPD.
It was the first time King returned to the scene and Drew says Rodney was shaking a lot and he believes that he was experiencing post-traumatic stress that night.
"Rodney is fantastic and he is the greatest. He had never told that story before. The crazy thing is where the beating took place, there is now the Los Angeles County Children's museum and they literally built it on the spot."
