American Idol Top 36 Contestant Joanna Pacitti Ruled Ineligible
Feb. 12 2009, Published 1:59 p.m. ET
Joanna Pacitti won't be the next American Idol. Pacitti has been removed from the Top 36 of American Idol because of her previous record deal.
Idol sent out a press release sent at 10:30 p.m. PT (a half hour after the Top 36 episode finished airing on the west coast) saying "It has been determined that Joanna Pacitti is ineligible to continue in the competition. American Idol contestant Felicia Barton has replaced Ms. Pacitti as part of the Top 36."
This is not the first time Joanna has gotten the boot. When she was just 12 years old, she won a national talent competition sponsored by Macy's designed to find the girl to play the lead role in a Broadway revival of Annie.
Shortly before the show opened, Joanna was fired and replaced by 8-year-old Brittny Kissinger. Joanna and her family then sued Macy's and took their plight to the media.
Maybe, the sun won't come out tomorrow.
