Whoopi Looks To The Future

Whoopi Goldberg will be producing and starring in a new online sci-fi series called Stream.
The show will premiere on the video-on-demand and horror website FEARnet on Jan 15. Goldberg stars as Jodi Quinn, a woman fighting personal demons in a science fiction thriller that moves between three parts of her life.
After over a year of only hosting the daytime chat show The View, the 53 year-old Goldberg said that working in a new medium was appealing to her, as well as the opportunity to act in horror and science fiction, her two favorite genres.
"I hadn't made a movie in quite a while," she told Reuters. "There wasn't a lot being done that I was interested in doing.
"But the idea that you can be at work and check out a webisode tickles me because that is the future. I can reinvent my way of acting so that I challenge myself and see where it takes me for the second half of my life."
Goldberg, who was a big fan of Star Trek since childhood, became popular among sci-fi fans for her performance as the alien Guinan in Star Trek: The Next Generation.
