Vamps Bite Box Office Again!

This time, though, it's not the Twilight vampires who found it a bloody good weekend at the movies. It was the war of the monsters in Underworld: Rise of the Lycans which earned $20.7 million to come in just behind Paul Blart: Mall Cop, which grabbed $21.5 million to take the number 1 spot.
Winning third place was the muscular Clint Eastwood flick Gran Torino earning $16 million for an impressive total of $97.6 million. The top 5 were rounded out by Hotel for Dogs with $12.4 million and Slumdog Millionaire with $10.6 million.

The disappointing debut of the weekend was Inkheart. The expensive fantasy earned just $7.7 million.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button got a small bump from its Oscar nominations, rising 7% to earn $6 million for a total haul of $111 million.
Jennifer Aniston is still ahead of that ex-hubby Brad Pitt starrer. Her Marley & Me has earned $138 million to date.
