The Thing Returns
Jan. 29 2009, Published 12:48 p.m. ET
One of the greatest science fiction films ever, The Thing, is about to be remade.
However, unlike the 1951 classic -- in which an alien vegetable in human form feeds little Things with blood drained from soldiers and scientists in a North Pole research station -- the remake will draw heavily from the 1982 version in which the alien can assume the shape of any living creature.
Both films are based on the 1938 John W. Campbell Jr. short story Who Goes There?
