(Photo: Splash News Online) ABC is in talks to move late night laugh-er Jimmy Kimmel to an earlier 11:35pm time slot - currently the notch of news program Nightline.

The move will create an interesting head-to-head showdown between incoming host of NBC's The Tonight Show, Conan O'Brien, the ABC veteran Jimmy Kimmel Live! and of course David Letterman on CBS.

Which flat lines Nightline?

With Jay Leno leaving the scene, prez of ABC Entertainment Stephen McPherson told press, "It's a changing landscape and we're looking at everything."

ABC first considered replacing Nightline back in 2002 with CBS's legendary David Letterman.
