CSI: Crime Scene Investigation star Gerald McCullouch got a taste of real-life crime when he was assaulted on a New York City subway.
According to police reports, a mugger attempted to grab the 41 year-old actor's laptop "and dash out the door."
But McCullouch, an amateur boxer, hit the assailant before he could escape. However, the stakes rose when the thief whipped out a kitchen knife.
"This thing must have had a blade 10 inches long," McCullouch told the New York Daily News. "The other passengers started running out the door and into the next car."

Fortunately McCullouch was unharmed, and police arrested a 39 year-old male suspect and charged him with possession of a weapon, robbery, and assault.
McCullouch, who played firearms expert Bobby Dawson on the CBS series, amazingly had a another brush with death in Atlanta, when he was robbed at gunpoint in 2001.
