Court Says Prince Stole Song

The Court of Appeal in Rome has ruled that Prince's 1994 hit The Most Beautiful Girl in the World was stolen from the song Takin' Me to Paradise by Italian writers Bruno Bergonzi and Michele Vicino.
This decision overturns a lower court ruling that the song was not plagiarized.
This means that Prince cannot distribute the song in Italy and may have to turn over the royalties he has earned there.
However, it may be a while before the artist has to do that -- if at all. The case next goes for a "third degree" review, which could take years and may turn yet again.
